About Grandma’s Place Center Village
Grandma’s Place at Center Village opened in 2001.
For 16 years, we have been caring for children 12 months
old through 5 years old. On our wall, you will find many
years of class photos, and we often have kids come back
and see themselves as babies!
It is true that it takes a village to raise a child, and we
strive towards being a part of that village. We believe in
establishing safe and loving connections with “our”
children and relationships with their families. Children thrive when they feel safe and secure and we see it as our pleasure in extending the security of your home into our early childhood learning environment.
Our preschool program is in part guided by Oregon kindergarten readiness standards, thereby preparing your preschooler for kindergarten. By learning through play our preschoolers learn early math skills through sorting, counting and patterning; early reading skills through letter and sound recognition and sight words; and early writing skills through fine motor development. The best part is that they don’t even know they are learning because they are too busy having fun.
In addition, we prepare children for success in school by teaching them social – emotional skills. Our children go off to kindergarten knowing how to bathroom and prepare for outdoor play independently, sit quietly and participate in circle time, how to resolve interpersonal conflict with their peers and how to advocate for themselves when necessary.
We are very proud of our program, our families and our community. We feel honored to be a part of so many lives.
